A firm commitment to the needs of our city and those who are most vulnerable is a central piece of our mission. While few of our members live in the inner-city, we believe that if we come here to worship we must be present here to serve. The parish sponsors a numher of programs of outreach. Some of these include:
The Marion Sterling School Parnership - For the past five years, members of Saint Peter's have been working to improve the quality and education and environment at Marion Sterling School - one of the poorest schools in the Cleveland system. Our work focuses on tutoring, improving the learning environment, providing for the physical needs of the children, and obtaining grant monies that sponsor direct atcion for change.

This year alone we collected $37,000 in goods and money for the school. Both the library and music room have been refurbished through parish efforts. In partnership with Ursuline College, a large foyer mural was recently completed and parish members have worked both inside and outside to enhance the building and the grounds.

Ministries to the Homeless - There are four homeless shelters adjacent or near to our church. Members seek to find ways to respond to the overwhelming needs of these men and women. For a number of years, the parish has been active in a variety of ways at the women's shelter providing for personal needs, food, clothing, and bedding. In addition, members have worked in activities such as art classes. Many of the works were displayed in an exhibit in the church.
The parish supplies meals to the North Coast Men's Transitional Housing, and works with the Cosgrove Center in providing help and services to teh homeless population.

Social Justice - The social justice committee workes to meet the immediate needs of others as well as helping the community to be aware of the need for advocacy and systemic change. Members meet regularly to find ways to meet the challenging needs of the poor in our city, and at the same time challenge the communith to recognize its call to service as an essential part of our baptismal call.
